New Orleans is a city on the North American continent of Earth in the former US state of Louisiana. The city is famous for its French Quarter that contains, among other attractions, Jackson Square and Audubon Park. (DS9: "The Visitor", "Homefront")

In the 19th century Frederick La Rouque was born here. (TNG: "Time's Arrow, Part I")

The city is the birthplace of various members of the Sisko family, including Benjamin Sisko (in 2332), and is the location of Sisko's, Joseph Sisko's creole restaurant. (DS9: "Equilibrium", "Homefront", "Paradise Lost", "Image in the Sand")

For the first few days of his time at Starfleet Academy, Ben Sisko would travel from San Francisco to New Orleans for evening dinner. (DS9: "Explorers")
