Neural inputs were the parts of Geordi La Forge's neural implants that connected his VISOR with his visual cortex.
In 2369, it seemed as if La Forge had a bacterial infection around his neural inputs, but it turned out that tampering solanogen-based lifeforms were responsible for the malfunctions. (TNG: "Schisms")
