Neo-Trotskyism was a social philosophy on Earth in the early 21st century, particularly in France.
In 2024 student protestors caused wide-spread riots in France, which the French government led by neo-trotskysts could not stop. Many people in the United States believed such social ills were confined to Europe but they would shortly be proved wrong by the Bell Riots. (DS9: "Past Tense, Part I")
