Nara's species was an Alpha and Beta Quadrant species.

Some members of this species had joined Starfleet as early as the 2360s, serving aboard starships such as Lieutenant Nara of the USS Enterprise-D.

Distinguishing characteristics included enhanced facial ridges on their forehead, nostrils extenuated over their nose. (TNG: "Eye of the Beholder")
