Nancy Hower (born 11 May 1966; age 57) is the actress, screenwriter, producer, and director who played Ensign Samantha Wildman in eight episodes of Star Trek: Voyager.

Hower started acting during high school and later attended the Julliard School in New York where she majored in drama. She appeared in several Broadway and off-Broadway shows as well as regional stage productions, including the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts.

Although mainly a theatre actress, Hower made a small number of television guest appearances in the 1990s, on shows such as Crisis Center (with Tina Lifford, Clifton Collins, Jr., and Fran Bennett), The Sentinel, and Suddenly Susan.

In 1999, she appeared in the television science fiction film The Last Man on Planet Earth, along with Tamlyn Tomita, Elizabeth Dennehy, Martha Hackett, and Cliff DeYoung. The film was written by Kenneth Biller and directed by Les Landau.

From the early 2000s, Hower mostly switched to writing and directing. She directed episodes of series such as JailBait, Teachers (with Ed Begley, Jr.), Insatiable, Drama Club, and So Help Me Todd (with Madeline Wise and Jeffrey Nordling). She co-created, wrote, and directed the improvisational comedy series 10 Items or Less, which ran for 21 episodes between 2006 and 2009, and the Hulu comedy western series Quick Draw, which ran for two seasons in 2013-2014.

Hower has also been active in music. She fronted two alternative rock bands, Wench (named for her childhood nickname) and Stella. She sang lead and played rhythm guitar in Stella, and wrote all the band's songs. The band was the opening act for Meat Loaf's 2001 tour, however, they disbanded before recording their first album.
