Name the Winner

Name the Winner was a popular television series broadcast by Empire TV on the planet 892-IV in 2268. As with much of the culture of that planet, the program resembled 20th century Earth, including the producers' preoccupation with ratings. The program featured gladiatorial games and the occasional execution.

The gladiators developed a certain fan following: while searching for survivors of the SS Beagle with a landing party from the USS Enterprise, converted Son worshiper Flavius Maximus was apprehended and recognized by one of the Praetorian Guards as a runaway gladiator. (TOS: "Bread and Circuses")
