NCC-1831 was the registry number of a Federation starship which underwent a layover at Starbase 11 in 2267. The ship's number was seen on a chart indicating the repair status of several vessels. (TOS: "Court Martial")
This ship was only identified by its hull number. According to Greg Jein's article The Case of Jonathan Doe Starship, which originally interpreted this registry as NCC-1631, was assigned to the Constitution-class USS Intrepid. The registry would be corrected in the Star Trek Encyclopedia, to NCC-1831, and remain applied to the Intrepid, however, would be reverted back to the originally interpreted NCC-1631, when applied to the hull of the Intrepid when it appeared in the remastered version of "Court Martial". This ship might have been a Constitution-class heavy cruiser. In the original series, only ships like the USS Enterprise were identified as starships.
According to the USS Enterprise Owners' Workshop Manual (pg. 38), NCC-1831 was the registry of the Intrepid.
