NCC-1701⁄R6 was a Federation scouter-gig that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-23rd century, attached to the USS Enterprise.
In 2269, this gig was piloted by Lieutenant Clayton and Commander Scott during the recovery operations on the planet Argo, following the destruction of the aqua-shuttle, which left Kirk and Spock missing. (TAS: "The Ambergris Element")
