Background Information Edit

The name on the ship was somewhat illegible in the blu-ray rendering, but was seen slightly more clearly on the high resolution rendering of the cgi-model for the cover of Cinfex issue 134.

According to Joseph Gatt, the number 0718 has significance for J.J. Abrams. [1]

In a deleted scene from Star Trek Into Darkness, the name and registry was also on a model Federation starship that was hung from the office ceiling of Admiral Alexander Marcus. The ship had a prime universe Constitution-class heavy cruiser configuration. The deleted scene first appeared in a release of Into Darkness for the Xbox SmartGlass app, before being included in the Star Trek: The Compendium Blu-ray Disc set.
