Murphy Wiltz worked in the camera and electrical department on Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek: The Next Generation. For the latter one he received no credit but is listed on several call sheets. The planet Beta Wiltz III in the episode "Inheritance" and the Starfleet officer with the same name in the episode "Violations" were named after him.
Wiltz also worked in the camera and electrical department of the crime comedy Clue (1985), the action comedy The Golden Child (1986, with Greg Luntzel), the comedy Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987), and the romance She's Having a Baby (1988, with Waverly Smothers).
