The Moab system, located in the Moab sector, was a planetary system. This system had five planets. One of these planets, Moab IV, was the location of an Earth colony.

In 2368, a stellar core fragment from a neutron star had the potential to destroy the Moab IV colony and its Human inhabitants. With the help of the USS Enterprise-D however, the path of the core fragment was changed and the colony saved. (TNG: "The Masterpiece Society")
