Mizar was a star system, the location of planet Mizar II. This system was home to a Federation population in the 23rd century. (TNG: "Allegiance")
Located in the constellation Ursa Major, this system's primary star has been called Zeta Ursae Majoris by astronomers on Earth. It was located approximately 82 light years from Earth.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, page 44, this system was located in the Alpha Quadrant.
