Missouri was a region on Earth's North American continent, in the central part of the former United States of America. It was also the birthplace of Harry S. Truman and noted 19th century writer and humorist Samuel Clemens.

Missouri was one of the words Hoshi Sato was able to translate from the remains of the Skagaran database found on a planet in the Delphic Expanse. (ENT: "North Star")

Missouri is the location of the city of St. Louis, where Beverly Crusher attended a dancing academy. (TNG: "Data's Day")

Kansas City is also a city in Missouri, on the banks of the Missouri River. While selecting a city for a recreation of a jazz club on the holodeck, Commander William T. Riker first selected Kansas City before changing it to New Orleans. (TNG: "11001001")
