Miguel Rivera is a sound editor who worked on the sixth and seventh season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, part of the first season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and the first through third seasons of Star Trek: Voyager. He has earned three Emmy Award nominations in the category Outstanding Individual Achievement in Sound Editing for a Series for his work on the following episodes:
- 1993 for the episode "Time's Arrow, Part II", shared with Bill Wistrom, Jim Wolvington, Masanobu Tomita, Guy Tsujimoto, Jeff Gersh, Dan Yale, and Gerry Sackman
- 1993 for the episode "Emissary", shared with Jim Wolvington, Bill Wistrom, Ashley Harvey, Jeff Gersh, Sean Callery, Steffan Falesitch, and Stephen M. Rowe
- 1994 for the episode "Genesis", shared with Mace Matiosian, Ruth Adelman, Masanobu Tomita, Guy Tsujimoto, Jeff Gersh, Gerry Sackman, Jerry Trent, and Audrey Trent
Rivera has also been nominated for Emmy Awards for his sound editing on two episodes of MacGyver (one shared with Star Trek Generations sound effects editor Jon E. Johnson and another shared with Guy Tsujimoto) and one episode of Northern Exposure. In addition, he received Golden Reel Award nominations from the Motion Picture Sound Editors Guild for his work on the 2000 film U-571 and the 2003 television movie Roar: Lions of the Kalahari. His other projects include work as an adr editor on Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness and sound editing credits on the films Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997), Rounders (1998), Payback (1999), Joy Ride (2001), and The Alamo (2004).
More recent credits as dialogue editor include the crime thriller Man on a Ledge (2012, with Jon E. Johnson and Randy Singer), the television drama Game Change (2012), the short drama Men in a Box (2012, with Jon E. Johnson), the comedy Mirror Mirror (2012), and the thriller Deadfall (2012).
