Ensign Michael Parsons was a Starfleet officer in the 24th century, His serial number was AB-487-9011 WGL. He served under Captain Kathryn Janeway aboard USS Voyager. In 2371, Parsons was among the crew stranded in the Delta Quadrant when Voyager was forcefully brought there by the Caretaker.

He was among the crewmembers who were transported aboard the Caretaker's array. There, he gathered with the other crewmembers in front of the farm house and witnessed the farm folk dancing and celebrating their arrival. (VOY: "Caretaker")

In 2371, Parsons was called in by Neelix to look after his cooking food in the galley when Captain Janeway ordered Neelix to the bridge. (VOY: "Phage")

He was working on the bridge when Voyager entered a nebula to find some energy. He remained on duty on the bridge when the crew learned that the nebula was a lifeform, a nucleogenic cloud being. He also took some hors d'oevres from Kes. (VOY: "The Cloud")

He manned an aft station on the bridge when Voyager made contact to the Romulan Telek R'Mor through a micro-wormhole. (VOY: "Eye of the Needle")

Parsons, sickbay

Parsons guarding sickbay

He was the security guard stationed in sickbay to guard the surviving Kazon-Nistrim from aboard a Kazon raider. (VOY: "State of Flux")

Parsons left the mess hall following the first meeting with Kazon-Nistrim First Maje Jal Culluh. At this time, Chakotay entered the mess hall to talk to Tuvok. (VOY: "State of Flux")

Neelix believed that Parsons was possessed by the Komar. The Talaxian's reasoning was that Parsons liked his pejuta hot and with lemon, and that his recent order was for cold Pejuta without lemon, therefore he might not be the same person. (VOY: "Cathexis")

Parsons passed Lieutenant Tuvok on deck 6 before Tuvok discovered Kenneth Dalby working on malfunctioning bio-neural gel packs. Later, he visited the mess hall and was seated in a corner when Tuvok and the Maquis trainees crossed the room during their training. (VOY: "Learning Curve")

Parsons briefly worked on an aft station on the bridge while Tom Paris explained the navigation console to Amelia Earhart and John Evansville met Earhart for the first time. (VOY: "The 37's")

Armed with a phaser, Parsons escorted Captain Janeway, Tuvok, and Kes to the surface of the Kazon-Ogla training moon Tarok where the away team met Maje Razik and his guards and rescued Commander Chakotay. (VOY: "Initiations")

Parsons, engineering

A holographic duplicate of Parsons in engineering

While The Doctor was delusional, later that year, he imagined that he and Reginald Barclay were going to disable the holoemitters in engineering and that Janeway ordered the holographic duplicates of Jarvis and Parsons to stop them. (VOY: "Projections")

Parsons visited the mess hall when Kes discovered a spawn beetle in salad she brought from airponics bay. Later, he was sitting next to a sciences officer and talking to her when Neelix and Tuvok had a conversation about being a parent. (VOY: "Elogium")

In an alternate timeline, his last name was read aloud by Harry Kim, in early 2372, when he reviewed Voyager's crew manifest. (VOY: "Non Sequitur")

In 2373, Parsons suffered from a microbial infection. The Doctor set up a culture of his glial cells to do an immunogenicity analysis, but was too distracted with his holographic family, so Kes did the tests instead. (VOY: "Real Life")

In 2374, Parsons received a letter from home, handed out by Neelix in the mess hall, that had been transmitted from the Alpha Quadrant over the Hirogen communications network but Parsons was not present. (VOY: "Hunters")

In 2375, his name was listed on a crew manifest. (VOY: "11:59")

Background information[]

Michael Parsons was identified twice. He was first called "Parsons" by Neelix in the episode "Phage" where he was played by background actor Jeremy Trabucco who was wearing a command division uniform. The second time he was identified as "Parsons" was in the episode "Projections" where he was portrayed by background actor John Parsons who was wearing an operations division uniform. His full name was later seen on a crew manifest in the episode "11:59".

John Parsons is listed on the call sheet to appear in engineering scenes of the episode "Emanations" but was replaced in the final episode. Jeremy Trabucco filmed a deleted scene, scene 13 in the galley and filmed on Wednesday 7 December 1994 on Paramount Stage 8, for the first season episode "Eye of the Needle".
