- Okuda's name was an inside reference to production staff associate Michael Okuda. The first time this name appeared was on the Enterprise-D's plaque on TNG, although there was another person named M. Okuda who was listed on the plaque of Enterprise (NX-01), two-hundred and twelve years earlier. If it wasn't the result of Michael himself being caught in a time loop, then maybe it is a relative.
