Michael J. Lin was a Human Starfleet officer in the mid-24th century.
In 2364 he held the rank of captain and was the commanding officer of the USS Gremlin.
During his tour of duty as captain of the Gremlin, he sent a request to Starfleet Operational Support Services that his ship's warp field sensor grids should be upgraded. Admiral Gregory Quinn responded that, upon the ship's return, the upgrades would be subject to budgetary considerations. (TNG: "Conspiracy")
