Menopause is a stage of the Human female reproductive cycle that occurs as the ovaries stop producing estrogen, causing the reproductive system to gradually shut down. The onset of this biochemical stage is during mid-life.

The Betazoid phase is similar to Human menopause, but unlike menopause, a Betazoid female becomes fully sexual as her sex drive quadruples or more. (TNG: "Manhunt")

When Odo began experiencing fluctuations with his morphogenic matrix in 2372, Doctor Bashir suggested that the fluctuations could possibly the result of a normal biological process for Changelings similar to menopause. (DS9: "Broken Link")
