Romii & Remus are one and the same - STAR TREK Edit

moved to Talk:Romii - this page should be deleted later. -- Cid Highwind 15:07, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

Repeated LinksEdit

I've noticed this on a lot of articles: Typically shouldn't it be enough to link to an article from the first mention of it, rather than every mention of it? Similar to the journalistic rule of using a full name in the first mention and only the surname in subsequent mentions?Logan 5 18:41, 16 May 2005 (UTC)

I disagree. I think that whenever we can make a link we should. sometimes viewers only read certain sections of lenthy articles. I think every possible link should be a link in order to be able to fully acess our database. Tobyk777 05:15, 16 Aug 2005 (UTC)

This is very old, but why do we care how many times a page is linked to? I assume the user has forgotten the matter by now though. PCPatrol 00:02, 29 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Was this ever resolved? I would think that the first time a name/topic is listed in an article it gets a link to the proper page and every time after that it is just the common name. For example;

The chief medical officer of Deep Space Nine is Doctor Julian Bashir. For several months Bashir was replaced by a changeling.

I know it is proper writing style to refer to the person by title and full name the first time, and then only by last name after that. Shouldn't that work for links as well? AndreMcKay 00:21, 03 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Just make the second name redirect to the full name article. --Matthew 02:23, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

March 29, 2008 or 2006 Edit

OK, on the page it says 16:23, March 29, 2008 but the actual page says the last post was in 2006? --From TrekkyStar Open Hailing Frequencies 00:55, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Um, no it doesn't... --OuroborosCobra talk 05:03, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
They all say 2008 to me. Could you be more specific? Are you talking about this page or a particular forum post? Links usually help :-).– Cleanse 05:11, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
OK, I think I know what you are talking about. On the list of threads, it says it was edited today, but when you open the thread, the last post in it is dated in 2006. The listing that says "2008" is only capable of recognizing the last time a page was edited, but not everyone edits a thread to add a post. In this case, for example, the last post was made in 2006, but since then others have such as Shran and Renegade54 have made maintenance edits, but not actual posts. In the specific example I have given, Shran made edits to add episode link templates. --OuroborosCobra talk 05:40, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
