I created this guideline page to list all of our standard table designs and their CSS classes. The reason for this is that at the moment, many tables used on pages as templates use their own formatting, which is (a) against general wiki guidelines ("Keep it simple") and (b) might lead to terrible formatting problems if we decide to change the style of this site. In short, all formatting should be done via the Monobook.css of this site - and furthermore, each style in that CSS file should be used for exactly one purpose. If you want to suggest another table layout that is not already part of this guideline, we can create new table classes in the CSS.
Please, let's discuss all existing table layout before adding them here as well - not because I like discussing them, but because our Monobook.css already is a terrible mess and should be updated accordingly with each style we define. Thanks.
