Memory Alpha  AboutPolicies and guidelinesTemplate → Meta templates

These templates are for use in "meta" articles in the Memory Alpha: namespace. Their primary purpose is to conserve disk space by not saving the same blocks of text repeatedly (for high-turnover pages such as pages for deletion).

{{id-exceptions}}
  1. Unused redirects.
  2. No meaningful content or history (e.g. "sdhgdf") (see patent nonsense).
    1. Files that have been replaced (e.g. broken up collages or file format changes).
  3. Test pages (e.g. "Can I really create a page here?").
  4. Pure vandalism (see dealing with vandalism).
  5. Very short pages with little or no definition or context.
  6. Reposted content that was deleted according to this deletion policy. This does not apply to restored content that was undeleted according to the restoration policy.
  7. Pages created and edited solely by a banned user, after they were banned (see bans and blocks).
  8. New Memory Alpha user home pages accidentally created in main article space. However, the content should be moved to their user home page first.
  9. User talk pages of anonymous (IP) users if the content consists of only any type of welcome message and was edited more than seven (7) days ago.
  10. Any material (image, audio file, et al.) that has been uploaded and stored on Memory Alpha that is not directly related to an article or the project. This includes items used for personal User: pages (see what Memory Alpha is not).

Administrators may also delete pages for the following technical purposes:

  1. Deleting a redirect that has no useful history, to make way for a non-controversial page move.
  2. Temporarily deleting a page in order to merge page histories.
