McKinley Rocket Base

McKinley Rocket Base

McKinley Rocket Base is an installation employed by NASA for launching payloads into orbit. Its exact location is unknown, but presumably is somewhere in within the boundaries of the United States. In 1968, this base was the location of the launch of an orbiting nuclear platform. (TOS: "Assignment: Earth")

McKinley Rocket Base was actually a fusion of NASA stock footage taken at the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida, and newly-shot scenes at Paramount studios, namely, the Marlene Dietrich Building across from the Commissary.[1]
