Specifications

A typical ship of this type had two nacelles connected to the underside of the primary hull by swept pylons.

History

Three ships of this type were docked to Starbase 1 prior to the destruction of Vulcan in 2258. One of these ships would later participate in this battle. (Star Trek)

A year later, before the USS Enterprise departed on its mission to Qo'noS, a ship of this type was docked at berth A0. (Star Trek Into Darkness)

In the Blu-ray special "Starships" a ship of this type is labeled as the USS Defiant (NCC-1764) at Memory Beta, the wiki for licensed Star Trek works. Additionally, the ship is drawn with a roll bar similar to that of the Miranda-class.

The Gizmotron models 1/2500 scale model kit names this ship type as the Federation frigate. [1]

The unnamed ship from 2259 was seen on the cover of Cinefex, Issue 134. [2]
