Maxwell Burke

Lieutenant Maxwell Burke was a human Starfleet officer, assigned as security chief aboard the USS Equinox under Captain Rudy Ransom, when it was pulled into the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker. After the executive officer was killed, Burke was promoted to the position. Burke survived the first five years of the vessel's voyage through the quadrant.

In 2376 when the ship encountered the USS Voyager, Captain Janeway discovered that the Equinox was being powered by using the energy from nucleogenic creatures. After a series of conflicts between Voyager and Equinox, Captain Ransom was willing to surrender and have his crew beamed aboard Voyager. Burke rebelled and arrested Ransom, and took control of the Equinox, but was killed by one of the nucleogenic creatures. (VOY: "Equinox, Part I", "Equinox, Part II")
