Maxia Zeta IV was the fourth planet in the Maxia Zeta system, inside Ferengi space.

Though it was not habitable, it was still located in the habitable zone of its star, Maxia Zeta and therefore a candidate for terraforming. The planets had several moons, some of them cratered deeply enough to hide a ship.

The USS Stargazer became the first manned Federation starship to chart the planet in 2355. However, they were unaware that the planet was in Ferengi space, and were unexpectedly attacked by a Ferengi ship in what became known as Battle of Maxia. (TNG: "The Battle")
