Max Thayer (born 18 June 1946; age 67) is an actor who appeared as one of the Human civilians during the launch of Enterprise NX-01 in the Star Trek: Enterprise pilot episode "Broken Bow". He received no credit for this part but is listed on the call sheet for the episode. He filmed his scenes on 5 June 2001 on Paramount Stage 18.

Thayer was born as Michael Thayer in Detroit, Michigan and graduated from the Redford High School in 1964 and from the UCLA in 1970. Between 1966 and 1969 he served in the US Army and moved to Los Angeles after his service. In the '70s he started to work in film and television, first under his birth name Michael Thayer and later as Max Thayer.

Thayer worked on the horror film Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks (1976), the science fiction film Planet of Dinosaurs (1978), the comedy Hot Ice (1978), the drama The Retrievers (1982), the television drama Skeezer (1982, with Glenn Morshower), the erotic film The Story of the Dolls (1984), the adult comedies Talk Dirty to Me Part III (1984) and Perfect Fit (1985), the action film Deadringer (1985), the action film Iron Eagle (1986, with Caroline Lagerfelt, Lance LeGault, and Michael Cavanaugh), the action film No Dead Heroes (1986), the war movie Phantom Soldiers (1987), the action sequel No Retreat, No Surrender 2: Raging Thunder (1987, with Matthias Hues), the fantasy film A Night at the Magic Castle (1988), the action sequel Martial Law II: Undercover (1992, with Conroy Gedeon and Jeffrey Scott Jensen), the adventure Dominion (1995, with Geoffrey Blake, Glenn Morshower, Richard Riehle, Michael Papajohn, and Mark Ginther), the action film Sworn to Justice (1996, with Brad Dourif, Walter Koenig, Christopher Michael, Chuck Borden, Max Daniels, and Marcus Young), the science fiction thriller Visions (1998), the drama The Man Who Wasn't There (2001), the blockbuster Pearl Harbor (2001), the drama American Gun (2002, with Virginia Madsen), the action film S.W.A.T. Thayer also appeared in the television series Simon & Simon (1983, with Joe Farago, William Lucking, and Mary Carver), Dallas (1985, with Susan Howard and Gail Strickland), Benson with Rene Auberjonois and Ethan Phillips, and in the action series The War of Gene (2004).
