Maura was the pet dog of Lieutenant junior grade Aquiel Uhnari.
Maura was named after a character from the book Cold Moon Over Blackwater. She was killed in 2369 when her body was absorbed by an unusually large coalescent organism. (TNG: "Aquiel")
Maura was played by Friday, a terrier mix.
