Matthew was a boy who lived with his family aboard the USS Enterprise-D.

In early 2364, together with Pola, he managed to sneak into the observation lounge of the ship and brought some toys with him.

The two boys were rushed out of the room when a meeting was held there, but one of them forgot a Chinese finger trap on the large table. (TNG: "The Last Outpost")
