Matt Jefferies was a science fiction illustrator in the 1950s. In March 1953, Jefferies illustrated the story "The Corbomite Maneuver" for Incredible Tales magazine. (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")
Matt Jefferies is an homage to Star Trek art director Walter Matthew Jefferies.
