The master systems display table was a stand-alone console installation on board the USS Enterprise-D located in the engineering portion of the vessel. It was part of the master systems display units and featured a number of computer systems embedded within. It was the operational focus of the room. (Star Trek: The Next Generation)

As a concept, precursors of the master systems display table were already utilized as early as the mid-22nd century; The NX-class for example had very similar installations installed in the back of the bridges of its vessels, likewise serving as an operational focal point for its bridge personnel. (Star Trek: Enterprise) A century later, a modernized version of the console had been installed in Starfleet Command, San Francisco. (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)

The Starfleet Command unit was affectionately known by production staff as the "pool table", and was actually for the first time featured in The Voyage Home. (Star Trek Encyclopedia (2nd ed., p. 291))
Re-purposed for use in The Next Generation, it made its first re-appearance in that series' first season episode "Where No One Has Gone Before".

Starbase 74 used a master systems display table in 2364 as well. (TNG: "11001001")

The Sovereign-class USS Enterprise-E also had a similar table located between the main entrance to engineering and the warp core. (Star Trek: Insurrection)

The Enterprise-E master systems display table was auctioned as part of 40 Years of Star Trek: The Collection. [1]
