Mary Ann Barton was a casting director on Star Trek III: The Search for Spock along with Elza Bergeron and Stuart Jensen.

Barton and veteran Star Trek casting director Helen Mossler were nominated for the 1985 Artios Award for Best Comedy Episodic Casting by the Casting Society of America for their work on the Showtime series Brothers. Barton also worked on the 1980s version of The Twilight Zone as well as the TV movies Beverly Hills Madam (starring Terry Farrell, Seymour Cassel, Nicholas Coster) and The Return of Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer (featuring Stephen Macht).
