Classified as a gas giant, Marijne VII was the seventh planet in the Marijne system.

Ten days before stardate 47215, the Federation starship USS Hera had passed near this planet.

After the passing of the Hera, the USS Raman was assigned a sampling mission, wherein they would take a sample of the atmosphere from Marijne VII. During the mission, it came into contact with subspace beings native to the planet's lower atmosphere, which accidentally caused the deaths of the crew. The USS Enterprise-D, investigating the Raman's fate, encountered these beings as well. (TNG: "Interface")

According to the script, Marijne VII was a Neptune-like planet. [1]
