Marc Garneau was a Canadian astronaut, part of the NASA space program in the 20th century.

In 2063, a mission insignia with Garneau on it was displayed in the bar in Bozeman, Montana. (Star Trek: First Contact)

Garneau was a member of STS-41G, a space shuttle mission. The mission insignia doesn't identify the crews first names, the mission number, or that a space shuttle was the vehicle used.

The novels Federation and The Fall of Terok Nor (both by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens) discussed a Federation starship named the USS Garneau. The latter novel stated that the Garneau was Template:ShipClass.
