The mahi-mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) was a large edible fish from Earth.

While trying to find out Malcolm Reed's favorite food in 2151, Hoshi Sato asked Reed's friend Mark Latrelle if the specialty of a restaurant Reed and Latrelle had visited was swordfish, mahi-mahi, scallops, or halibut. Reed though had only chosen the restaurant because of the waitress Maureen. (ENT: "Silent Enemy")

Mahi-mahi are also commonly known as "dolphin-fish" or "dorado".
The name is Hawaiian and means "very strong".
