A magnetic pulse was a type of ship-mounted weapon used on the Klingon D7-class battle cruisers in the 23rd century.

In 2267, a battle cruiser attacked the starship USS Enterprise with magnetic pulses following a formal declaration of war between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire. The Klingon attack caused damage to decks ten and eleven of the Enterprise, and minor buckling of the antimatter pods. The Enterprise managed to destroy the attacking vessel by returning fire with phaser proximity blasts. (TOS: "Errand of Mercy")

In the original version of "Errand of Mercy", the effect of Enterprise being hit by the pulses was a reuse of footage filmed for TOS: "Arena" to represent Gorn weapon hits. In the 2007 remastering of "Errand of Mercy", the pulses were shown being fired from or near the torpedo launcher located on the bow of the ship.
