Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) was a German composer of classical music in the 18th and 19th centuries.

In 2375 the computer offered Beethoven's Piano Sonata Number 8 (Pathetique) in response to Captain Picard's request for some music. (Star Trek: Insurrection)
