In 1998 the Loyola Marymount University stood in as filming location for the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine seventh season episode "Take Me Out to the Holosuite". In the episode the main characters participated in a baseball match against the Vulcan Logicians. Producer Steve Oster was able to strike a deal with the University in Los Angeles, near the ocean. The location shooting included all main cast members, Avery Brooks, Nicole de Boer, Michael Dorn, Cirroc Lofton, Colm Meaney, Armin Shimerman, Alexander Siddig, and Nana Visitor, their photo doubles and stunt doubles, guest actors Max Grodénchik, Penny Johnson, Chase Masterson, Aron Eisenberg, and Gregory Wagrowski, eight Vulcan actors, and over 100 background extras as the audience.
