The long jump was an athletic track and field event, and was one of the main sports in athletic competitions on Earth.

In 2153, while escaping from Vulcans who had been infected with trellium-D, Captain Archer, Lieutenant Reed, Commander T'Pol and Corporal Hawkins came across a large gap over which they had to get across. Reed asked them if any of them were any good at the long jump. (ENT: "Impulse")
