The Ligon system was a non-aligned inhabited star system. The Federation had established trading rights with Ligon II where, by the mid-24th century, Federation doctors had discovered a vaccine for the Anchilles fever.

Early in 2364, the starship USS Enterprise-D visited the system on a mission of mercy for the nearby Styris system by obtaining a cargo of the vaccine. (TNG: "Code of Honor")
