The orbital control station was a facility in orbit of Ligon II which acted as a mediator between starships and the planetary government.
In 2364, the USS Enterprise used this facility to send a message to the Ligonian government after the abduction of Lieutenant Natasha Yar by Lutan. (TNG: "Code of Honor")
- This station probably monitored and directed ship traffic in the Ligon system. This however wasn't seen in the episode.
