The Launching Pad was a bar in San Francisco near Starfleet Academy in the 24th century. Benjamin Sisko often frequented it when he was a cadet.
One night, he and his friends were at the Launching Pad when Solok and several Vulcans arrived. They claimed they were doing research on "illogical Human bonding rituals".
Sisko and Solok started debating Solok's view that Vulcans were "superior to Humans and other emotionally handicapped species". Under the influence of alcohol, he challenged Solok to a wrestling match and was easily defeated by the much stronger Vulcan. (DS9: "Take Me Out to the Holosuite")
