Heying was the Key Hairstylist on the popular television series Charmed from 2003 through 2005. She previously received a nomination from the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards for her work on the Nickelodeon series All That.
In addition to Star Trek, Heying's other feature film hairstyling credits include Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (working with veteran Star Trek hairstylist Patricia Miller), Crossroads (which, like Star Trek, starred Zoe Saldana), Daddy Day Care (which starred Eddie Murphy), and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (working with makeup artists Leo Corey Castellano, Garrett Immel, Heather Koontz, Alex Proctor, and Jill Rockow).
More recently, Heying and Jason Orion Green, one of her hairstylists on Star Trek, worked together on the 2008 comedy The House Bunny. This film also featured makeup by Debra S. Coleman, Marianna Elias, and Kimberly Felix-Burke, all of whom worked on 2009's Star Trek.
