La Barre is a small village in northeastern France, in the county of Haute-Saône on Earth.

On 13 July 2305, Jean-Luc Picard was born in La Barre. (TNG: "Conundrum") His brother Robert Picard lived there together with his son René Picard until both died in a fire in 2371. (TNG: "Family"; Star Trek Generations)

In 2367, the mayor of La Barre wanted to give Jean-Luc a parade during his first return home in 20 years. (TNG: "Family")
