Lazard "L.Z." Ward worked as a set security officer for the Paramount Studios on Star Trek: The Next Generation beginning with its second season, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise, Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek Nemesis.

Starlog #226 (p.42) spoke with Ward as part of documenting "A Day in the Life of Trek," noting his popularity on the lot, and effort to keep people off the Star Trek sets, especially during filming.

After wrapping Enterprise he is still working for Paramount and did the security together with fellow security officer Steve D'Errico for the film Mission: Impossible III in 2006.

The call sheet for Tuesday 7 January 1992 for the episode "The Outcast" featured the note "Congratulations to L.Z. and Gaylene to the birth of their daughter Kristin".
