Doctor Mora Pol kept the infant Odo in a Krokan petri beaker during his early studies. Dr. Mora learned of Odo's shapeshifting abilities when he arrived in his lab one morning to find the beaker empty, and an identical beaker beside it. (DS9: "The Alternate")
