In an alternate timeline created by a temporal weapon, the Kremin Imperium became a huge empire that streched over 800 worlds. Although this was one of the biggest empires in the galaxy, they apparently weren't as strong as the Federation or other superpowers of the galaxy, as they were not able to destroy the Starship Voyager after numerous attempts.
