The kolyan kolyar, or "infinite spirals", is the Devore name for a luminous astronomical phenomenon that occurs in their space in the Delta Quadrant.

Inspector Kashyk spoke to Captain Kathryn Janeway of the kolyan kolyar during his apparent defection to USS Voyager in 2375, saying that he spent years gazing at them when he was a boy. Janeway compared them to the aurora borealis, a visually similar phenomenon on Earth. (VOY: "Counterpoint")
