Kerla

Brigadier Kerla (2293)

Brigadier Kerla was the Klingon military advisor to Chancellor Gorkon in the 2290s.

In 2293, following the destruction of the Klingon moon, Praxis, Kerla responded to the communiqué, sent by the USS Excelsior, rejecting Captain Sulu's offer of assistance. Kerla cited that what occurred on Praxis was merely an incident and that everything is under control.

Six months later, Kerla would be among Gorkon's contingent that transported aboard the IKS Kronos One to Earth. Kerla would later transport aboard the USS Enterprise-A for dinner with the senior staff. During dinner, Kerla stated that if the Gorkon peace initiative succeeds, it would mark the annihilation of Klingon culture.

Following the assassination of Chancellor Gorkon, Kerla would continue to serve as military advisor to Azetbur, the former chancellors daughter, during her attempt to continue the peace initiative with the Federation. As Azetbur's advisor, Kerla recommended that the Klingons attack the Federation, while they were still a capable force, reckoning that it is "better to die on our feet than live on our knees".

Kerla would, nonetheless, side with Azetbur decisions, joining her at the Camp Khitomer, and would assist in protecting the chancellor during the assassination attempt on the Federation President. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)

Kerla was played by actor Paul Rossilli.
