Kellin
Kellin was a Ramuran female.
In 2374 she met Lieutenant Commander Chakotay aboard the starship USS Voyager and fell in love with him.
Kellin was beamed aboard Voyager when her ship was destroyed by another Ramuran vessel and asked for asylum. Kellin explained to Captain Kathryn Janeway that she visited Voyager before and that was how she knew Chakotay.
Kellin told them that memories about her species could not be retained in the minds of other races. A Ramuran would be remembered for about two hours after which the memory would disappear. This had to do with a pheromone the Ramuran body produced, which blocked the long-term memory engrams.
Ramuran society was very closed and anyone who tried to leave it, would be brought back by a tracker. Kellin was a tracker when she first met Voyager a fugitive hid on their ship and they helped her to find him.
Kellin returned to Voyager because she fell in love with Chakotay during the weeks she spend there and wanted to renew her bond with him. Although she knew a tracker would be send after her to return her to Ramura.
Eventually she was captured by a tracker who used a neurolytic emitter to erase her memories about Voyager. When she regained consciousness in sickbay Chakotay told her everything about them, as she had requested to do so, but she told him she had to go home, back to Ramura, it would be wrong to stay on Voyager. (VOY: "Unforgettable")
