Karf was an Iotian mobster. His planet's society was based on the gangster era of Earth. He was a member of one of the two controlling mobs on Sigma Iotia II, working under boss Jojo Krako in 2268.

He stood guard at the entrance of Krako's headquarters, when James Kirk and Spock broke in, rendering him unconscious. Later, he accompanied Zabo and Krako's other hoods to "hit" on the headquarters of Bela Okmyx. Eventually, they were stunned by the Enterprise phasers. (TOS: "A Piece of the Action")
